Post Graduate Studies

In the future I would like to study to get a PhD degree in Nutrition and Food, because it consist in study these types of topics about food and nutrition, integrating knowledge about human and animal nutrition, together with farming and industrial food production processes. With this I can learn to do researches of the highest levels, with the opportunity of teaching in this area, which is the most I’m interested in. This last point refers to one of my goals to teach other people about food and nutrition. Also in this PhD program a lot of things are included and mixed, for example you can choose the nutrition and another area which is the food one; therefore they can be related to medicine areas. Although I’m more interested in food part more than medicine matters.

The course which I would like to participate in is nutrition and biochemistry, it seems really interesting. Although it also looks a little complicated because of biology, given that is most part of it is just memory, and that’s not really my area. I would like to study it in Chile or in any other Spanish speaking country, because I’m not really good at languages. Also because it is dictated in our same university, therefore I’m not really interested in looking for any other places. This is a PhD program that lasts two years (including thesis), because of that I would like to be completely dedicated to it, even though it can be a little hard and expensive.

Summer holidays

The summer is a season for relax and sleep, at least for me my house is a good place for do that, also I really love to watch movies and series, and obviously sleep. Usually during holidays I like to do manual things, like cook, make me nail designs or learn to do things with recycled materials. Now I don´t have any plan or idea for this summer, but with the time they appear. Every summer I go with my parents to the beach, sometimes the whole family goes, and I take care of my cousins, which does not relax me at all, so in that case I prefer to stay in Santiago and see series in my home . I like to go to the north of my country, especially to Coquimbo and La Serena, I really like to eat papayas in those places, and visit Elqui Valley, it's a very relaxing place. Also the Serena beach is very large, so you can see very few people and you can not meet anyone, and in Coquimbo they sell empanadas on the beach, which is the best of that place. Hobbies

My favorite hobbie is watch TV series, sleep and play handball. I watch TV series or Netflix in my house, college, where there is internet and have time, also I love sleep, I sleep in everywhere, I’d rather sleep than do something. I also like to play handball, I learned in college and became my new hobbie, it distracts me enough and when I play I think of nothing.  Playing handball in important to me because it relaxes me, and thus I do not think about the problems of the college or any other, perhaps I am not very good playing but I enjoy it.  When I was younger I liked to skate, I spent all afternoon skating on the street or in the park, I also saw series at night and I had fun. The hobbies for me mean to entertain, to send the mind to another side and to forget everything. I’ve never played soccer, I do not like it, I’m very bad at playing with my feet, I think I’ll fall alone or end up kicking other without meaning to.  I don’t think about the future, maybe the only hobbie I’

changes to my study programme

When I entered to study at this university,I thought it would have good infrastructure, that would have large libraries, a good gym, a big place to eat, and things like that .. But I was a little disappointed to see what this faculty had, even though it is better this to nothing. I think that one of the main changes that should be made in the program of study is in the "Introductions to the race", since they do not teach us what an engineer does, or in all the areas that can be worked, could lead us to Factories, to encourage people who enter the race and not drop out the first few months, because they did not get noticed because of what they saw about the things that a food engineer does. The curriculum is very complete, but could have more "advanced" subjects, where we work with food, an example, have a chapter of sensory analysis of food, we are taught only the basics, in the same subject of introduction to the career.
